World Down Syndrome Day
20th Mar 2026
World Down Syndrome Day is celebrated each year on March 21st. This date was chosen because people with Down Syndrome have an extra (third) copy of chromosome 21.
Under a microscope these tiny chromosomes look like litte pairs of colourful socks, so yesterday - in marking the occasion - we wore our brightest, boldest, mismatched socks to school!
The unexpected arrival of the fire brigade just added to the sense of fun!
