Dáil Éireann

Yesterday our 6th Classes had the opportunity to tour Leinster House and visit both the Dáil and the Seanad. 

In the Dáil we watched TDs debating Ireland's stance on South Africa's case against Israel in the International Court of Justice, while the discussion in the Seanad centred around the rising cost of living. 

We also bumped into Jerry Buttimer, Cathaoirleach of Seanad Éireann, who engaged us in an interesting debate about balancing individual rights with public responsibility.
